I loved this phone when I first got it. It’s a great size…fits perfectly in my hand and it’s really easy to slide open and shut, etc. I use it a LOT to go online and to text, and the QWERTY keyboard is just the right size and functions well.
BUT…after I had it for a little over a month, it just randomly shut itself off and wouldn’t come back on. I took it to the local AT&T store, and the guy there couldn’t get it to come on either. He had a replacement phone “in the back” that he said he could give me that day IF I switched over my internet and TV to AT&T, otherwise he would have to send the phone off to be repaired. Uh huh. Kind of had me there, didn’t he since it was past the time limit for replacing in-store.
Turns out that the TV and internet really were a good deal, so I did switch. The replacement phone has worked fine until now. It’s again shutting off randomly. At least this time it will come back on, but it shuts off again, especially if I slide it open and/or use the keyboard while online. Frustrating and random! Doing a search online for “LG Neon shuts off” brings up a LOT of users with the same problem.
So I had to rate this a 3 star product. I still really love it, and over the weekend I’m hoping it will magically start working right again. Otherwise, I’m going to have to head to the AT&T store, and I’m not sure if I’ll take a replacement or get a different one. Sounds like it can’t really be fixed, but you know, I’m sure they’ll have an even better phone “in the back”. *sigh*

I didnt buy one of these phones from amazon, i bought it from a store for like
100$. i use it as a prepaid go phone it works okay but it has randomly shut off a few times on me while texting. I wish i wuld have done my research before i bought it. im afraid the phone will die on me and i hate wasting my money. some have said it works good so im hoping im lucky. but it doesnt look good. as for my experience and as what i’ve read….dont buy this phone.

Great value, performs well, ideal for messaging and voice use. Since EDGE is data network, not the best for internet browsing, but functional. Qwerty keyboard and touch-screen phone dialers easy to use. Other features like bluetooth and 2MP camera nice additions and work well.

The screen cracked within a week of purchase. It had never been dropped and was kept in a case. Neither LG nor AT&T would do anything about it, so we are locked into a two-year contract with no phone. VERY DISPLEASED.

I have had the same problem with it spontaneously powering off as some of the others listed here. They are also saying it is cheap which i rather disagree with since i had to pay 200 dollars out of pocket for it and now it turns off by itself (my favorite it right after i’ve finished writing a long text but before i’ve had time to send it). Another problem that seems unique to mine is that sometimes the function of the keyboard goes haywire and starts putting in symbols and moving my cursor around as though i hit the Fn button. Oh and the stuff that it says about having touch screen features…yeah that is literally ONLY for typing in numbers and even that you can use the keypad inside of the phone for so it is completely useless. They only put it on there to jack the price up.
